Know the happy state of your infrastructure. Know when drift occurs.

If it can be automated, automate it. If it cannot be automated, double check that fact. Then if it truly cannot be automated, execute it manually and document it.

One of the most dangerous forms of tribal knowledge is in your infrastructure. When "what is broken?" has to be answered with "I do not know what is even there," it makes for a long day. Close that gap with IaC.
